i sent separate story to your news tips. i'll cut and paste it here: bobby was well known here in tucson during the 1970s working at khos and kikx radio. a phoenix veteran on air personality has died. bobby butler. he passed away early morning on april 27th. a memorial service will be held this saturday (5/3/14) from 1-3pm at superbia retirement village -- 9720 stacy ct., oklahoma city, ok 73162, where bobby has resided for several years, since retiring from radio. flowers and donations may be sent to that address c/o his long-time companion gwendolyn bottoms. bobby worked in phoenix and tucson during the 70's and 80's at kool-fm, kjjj-am, krds, as well as knix in phoenix, also kikx and khos in tucson, kqol and kbgo in las vegas, also kikk pasadena-houston, and various stations in new mexico and oklahoma city. he is survived by his three sons, and many grandchildren. in 1979 bobby had a hit novelty song called "cheaper crude or no more food", featured on tv's "real people", the paul harvey radio show. he also sang his novelty hit in front of a joint session of congress, and on the tv show hee-haw.and the local "arizona scene". in a survey during the 1970s, bobby was one of the 10 most recognizable personalities in phoenix. pictures, music and other info may be found on his myspace page:
