TUCSON - Heavy rain returns to some parts of Tucson as October storm system moves through. Showers and storms are tapering off across Tucson but not before leaving behind some pretty impressive rainfall totals for mid October. Most locations picked up between a 0.10"-0.25" with isolated higher amounts. The airport, where official records are kept, picked up 0.30" bringing Tucson's yearly total to 8.02". We'll have enough lingering moisture on Monday to support another round of isolated storms across southern Arizona but the bulk of the activity should remain east of Tucson. Daytime highs will top out in the mid 80s on Monday before a ridge of high pressure builds into the region driving temperatures back up. By the end of this week, Tucson could be flirting with near record highs in the mid 90s.
