TUCSON - News Four Tucson has confirmed there was an incident involving Arizona running back Ka'Deem Carey on the morning of December 23rd, that resulted in a protection order being issued against the student athlete. The protection order was served on January 2nd.
Court records also show that on December 26th Carey filed an "injunction against harrasment" against Dana Rambow, who News 4 Tucson has confirmed is his ex-girlfriend's mother. There will be a hearing on this matter on January 7.
Universty of Arizona Athletic Director, Greg Byrne and Arizona Head Football Coach Rich Rodriguez have both issued the following statements:
"I've spoken with Ka'Deem and am aware of the case. We take these matters very seriously and will support the authorities however we can. Once more specific information is available, we will act accordingly." -Rich Rodriguez
"The University and Department of Athletics are fully aware of the situation. This is now a matter for the local authorities and we will fully cooperate and assist them as needed. At this point we will have no further comment." -Greg Byrne
