DOUGLAS, AZ - A Douglas woman was arrested Saturday for attempting to smuggle more than 200 pounds of marijuana through the Douglas Port of Entry.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred the 22-year-old woman for inspection of her Chrysler sedan, Customs and Border Protection spokeswoman Edity Serrano said in a release.
During the inspection, a drug-sniffing dog alerted to the presence of drugs.
Officers then found 196 packages of marijuana in the rear bumper area and in the spare tire.
The drugs, valued at $105,000, and vehicle were processed for seizure The subject was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
