18-year-old sexual assault suspect could face hundreds of years in prison

FLORENCE - A prosecutor announced an indictment Thursday against an 18-year-old Arizona student charged with sexually assaulting nearly a dozen girls over about five years.

Tyler Kost could face between 147 to 335.75 years in prison if found guilty on all 27 counts of sexually-related charges.

On Wednesday, Pinal County Attorney Voyles filed an indictment of criminal incidents, from Oct. 2009 through April 2014, involving 11 victims, ranging from 12 to 17 years of age.

Kost was born in January 1996 so he was 13 when the first offense allegedly occurred. But the prosecutor plans to try him as an adult on all charges.

According to the indictment, Kost is accused of:

3 counts - Sexual Abuse with a Minor, under the age of 15
6 counts - Sexual Conduct with a Minor, under the age of 15
1 counts - Child molestation, a child under 15
7 counts - Sexual Assault with a Minor, 15 or older
7 counts - Sexual Abuse with a Minor, 15 or older
3 counts - Sexual Conduct with a Minor, 15 or older

Kost will be in Pinal County Superior Court on Friday, May 16.
