NOGALES - More than 22 pounds of methamphetamine, worth an estimated $347,820, was seized Monday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Mariposa Port here.

Officers referred Jose Luis Martinez, 20, of Mesa, Ariz., for an inspection of his Ford sedan when he attempted to enter the United States. During the search, officers found 33 packages of meth concealed under the vehicle's dashboard.

The drugs and vehicle were seized. Martinez was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
