CATALINA - - Three people were transported to UMC after a three-car accident north of Tucson yesterday evening - one person was airlifted by a medical helicopter.
At about 6 p.m. Wednesday night, Golder Ranch Fire District responded to the intersection of Oracle and Eagle Crest Ranch Blvd., just north of Catalina, to find four patients, according to a news release from the district. Two people had to be extricated using specialized tools, such as the Jaws of Life.
Three were transported to UMC - two by Golder Ranch Fire District ambulance, and one by a LifeNet medical helicopter, the release states. The fourth patient refused treatment at the scene, and had a family member drive them to UMC.
