MARANA, Ariz. - Four teenagers were injured in a vehicle accident in the Rillito River Sunday.
According to Captain Adam Goldberg with Northwest Fire District, the accident occurred when the 4-wheel drive truck was heading west in the river toward Santa Cruz River and they hit an immediate drop off.
The teenagers in a small pickup truck were unsuccessful in finding a way through a steep drop off just west of I-10.
They ranged in age from 15 to 19 with one female and three males. Four teenagers were immediately transferred to the University of Arizona Medical Center. The 18-year-old driver was the only person to avoid injury. None of the occupants of the vehicle are facing life-threatening injuries.
The Marana Police are investigating the incident.
