TUCSON - Police on Wednesday arrested 3 people who invaded a 67-year-old woman's Eastside home, according to Tucson Police.
She lives near Lakeside Park.
Carol Galati was in her house around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday when men kicked in the front door.
They told her to open the safe, but she could not figure it out. She gave them the combination, but they still did not get it open.
"I wish I would have had a microphone then to record what I said," Galati said, "because I know it wasn't nice."
They stole her car and left. The fuel gauge is broken, so the men might have thought the tank was empty. After Galati called 911, police almost immediately found them. They were with the stolen car at a gas station near the house, according to police.
Galati appreciated the quick work and the way officers treated her.
"There had to have been 10 out here," she said, "and one was just nicer than the other one. They were all great."
Police arrested Frank Esquivel, 39, Michael Godinez, 30, and Andrew Lopez, 26. Their charges include Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Robbery.
"I wasn't scared at all," Galati said, "and then after the police left, I wasn't shaking outside, but man, was I shaking inside."
She plans on pressing charges and hopes the men spend a long time in prison. She has a message for them.
"Go to Hell," she said. "Don't pick on old ladies."
She is having Tucson Alarm install a new security system in her house.
