Arlene Ozburn has battled weight her entire life but now after a little more than a year of a healthy diet and exercise, she is doing things she never thought possible.
"I knew if I did what I had to do I could do it myself, it's just doing it," Ozburn said.
When Arlene started her journey in October 2010 she weighed 282 pounds.
"You just feel like hell, that's the best way to put it," she said. "You have trouble breathing, you can't walk much, you walk and you're tired."
With some help from a local doctor she started on a 1,200-calorie diet, eating no more than 20 grams of fat per day. That, plus three workouts a week with her personal trainer and the pounds melted away.
"Nobody can force you to do it, you've got to do it yourself," Ozburn said. "I've surprised me, I've surprised myself!"
Arlene now weighs 192 pounds, down a whopping 90 pounds from where she started. While her journey is far from over, Arlene says she is working toward one ultimate goal, living a healthier, longer life.
"I don't know where I'd be if I didn't do it to be honest with you," Ozburn said. " I have grandchildren but to be around for their children hopefully, I know that's stretching it."
Arlene is not done yet she says she would still like to lose about 25 pounds, but says she is well on her way.
