TUCSON - Another off day for Monsoon 2014.
High pressure over the state limits the isolated thunder threat to the mountains today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Daytime highs across Tucson flirt with triple digits, roughly on par with mid-July normals.
Saturday features a slight chance of isolated storms in the mountains & International Border, with isolated storms returning to the valley floors Sunday. Most activity stays in the higher terrain.
High pressure expands over the southwest next week, bringing big heat. Highs peak in the 108-110° range Wednesday and Thursday, which will threaten record highs for these dates. These temps may stand as the hottest of 2014.
