TUCSON - Monsoon 2014 is awakening from its recent slumber and storm chances are dramatically rising through the rest of the week and especially into the weekend.
The Rincon and Catalina Mountains were seeing very heavy rain today and so was portions of Cochise County near Douglas. Storms will continue to fire up late this afternoon and into the evening hours mainly near the mountains.
More abundant moisture rolls into the region Friday through Sunday providing more widespread storm coverage for everyone.
Some of the biggest threats will be blowing dust, near and along I-10, damaging winds in the strongest storms, and very heavy rain.
More moisture means cooler temperatures, so highs will only top-off into the 90s through Sunday.
