TUCSON - Monsoon 2013 is here and we can expect this week to be an active for storms.
Only isolated storms fired-up on Monday after a wet weekend for much of Southeast Arizona.
According to Meteorologist Matt Brode, much of Southen Arizona will see a Gulf surge, or an increase in moisture from Tropical Storm Erick in Mexico.
Additionally, a disturbence moving in from the Big Bend of Texas will usher in more moisture.
Bottom line: much of the region will see a lot of rain this week.
Meanwhile, Tucson recorded its 38th straight day of triple digit temperatures. If the airport reaches 100 on Tuesday, it will tie the all-time record of 39 consecutive days above 100 degrees set back in 1987 and 2005.
