TUCSON - Mother Nature shifts the forecast into reverse this week.
High pressure keeps temperatures above average by 6-8 degrees today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Morning sunshine gives way to partly cloudy skies this afternoon with highs reaching the upper 70's. A run at 80 degrees is likely tomorrow and Thursday as well.
Winter weather returns by late week thanks to a strong Alaskan cold front. Gusty winds develop Thursday, followed by widespread showers and mountain snow beginning late Friday afternoon. Rain/snow tapers off early Saturday afternoon, with temperatures 20-25 degrees cooler than today. Sunday looks to be the better day of the weekend for outdoor plans.
