Active monsoon in need of a short break

TUCSON - Dry air will limit thunderstorm activity over the next few days.

Our monsoon ridge of high pressure is starting to break down and allow a dry westerly flow to take over into the upcoming work week. For your Sunday afternoon expect only a few isolated storms mainly in the higher elevations south and east of Tucson.

Dry air really starts to settle in on Monday and Tuesday leaving monsoon storms very few and far between. With less moisture in the air our temperatures will be able to heat up faster meaning the triple digits will make a return this week.
