Anita Kellman, known as "Sarge," to her Beat Cancer Boot Camp "troops" is a Tucson wife and mother who has worked in the medical field for nearly 30 years as a clinical liaison for patients undergoing biopsies and other procedures.
Anita meets cancer survivors in various stages of treatment and recovery every day. After she found many patients searching for ways to cope more effectively with their diagnosis and prognosis, Anita took action. As a fitness buff, she had attended boot camp classes and learned Navy Seal exercises, and in 2004, she adapted these techniques to start Beat Cancer Boot Camp, an intensive support group built around physical fitness and shared experiences.
She volunteers her time and energy to empower cancer survivors to take charge of their lives, while teaching them to condition their bodies and minds for healing. Now, with over 700 troop members involved and reporting improved quality of life, her mission is to see this powerful program expand throughout the country, to help cancer survivors conquer their fears and take charge of their health.
Staying physically, stronger, so you are mentally tougher will help you fight any battles that come your way. It is never to late to begin an exercise routine. So...commit to be fit!
