TUCSON - It's the first Monday of Summer and the heat is on! Under full sunshine, the mercury has topped triple digits in most areas. The heat will continue for the entire week ahead and the warmest days will arrive by the weekend.
Little moisture is available so any storms that fire-up will remain near the New Mexico border through the entire week.
Some of our long term forecast tools indicate that a strong area of high pressure could position itself closer to the Four Corners by early next week. This is a more favorable position because the winds around this high pressure would help bring some deeper moisture to our area for a better chance of storms.
Until then, it's sunny and hot for the first full week of summer.
