The Inaugural "Tucson Desert Song Festival" takes place February 8-17 with performances, seminars, recitals and master classes around Tucson.
The festival is a ten-day celebration of classical voice works with internationally known soloists performing along side such Tucson institutions such as the Tucson Symphony, Tucson Chamber Artists, Chamber Music PLUS, the Tucson Guitar Society and Ballet Tucson. World-class Ballet comes to Centennial Hall on February 10 thanks to UApresents' presentation of the Alonzo King Lines Ballet Company. The company, known for it's long tradition of collaboration with musicians, artists and composers, bring their unique interpretations of classic ballet works to Tucson for one-night only at 7pm.
A screening of the new documentary "The Wrecking Crew" will take place at the Loft Cinema Tonight, February 7 at 7pm. The film tells the story of the legendary group of studio musicians known as the wrecking crew who worked with countless artists on their biggest hits. This award winning film will be followed with a Q & A from the films director Denny Tedesco.
