TUCSON - Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conducted a search warrant a home near Ajo Way and Sandario Road early Thursday morning.
Carlos Canino, the assistant special agent in charge said Border Patrol agents became suspicious of the property last week after conducting a traffic stop.
According to Canino, ATF agents from a specialized unit flew in from Texas to assist in executing the warrant, "lot of out buildings with multiple entries. Those guys have the training and the tools to be able to get into these places quickly and safely so we don't have loss of or any injuries."
Agents found drug paraphernalia, guns including rifles, and two bullet proof vests during their search of the property.
A woman who lived near the property and did not want to be identified said, "we don't want none of that around here but yeah it's usually pretty quiet."
At least five men and women were detained on the property but Canino said the investigation remained ongoing.
