Benson man admits to cruelty charges against horses, dogs

TUCSON - Three horses and three dogs have recovered after suffering from severe starvation.

The owner, Dennis Woblick, 62, owned the animals.

On July 21, 2013, Rincon District deputies responded to the 15200 block of South Lovell Road on a report of three penned horses that were starving.

When deputies arrived, they found the animals severely emaciated.

Woblick was charged and pled guilty to felony animal cruelty. He will be sentenced on May 28.
The horses were sent to Healing Hearts Rescue and Refuge in the Wilcox area. The dogs went to Pima Animal Care Center.

Since that time, the horses have been rehabilitated and have recovered to proper physical condition. The dogs were rehabilitated and adopted through Pima Animal Care Center.
