Blocking pattern brings warmth, breezes

TUCSON - The third straight day of 90 degree temps arrives this afternoon.

Expect sunny skies and high temps 6-8 degrees above average today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This is all thanks to a blocking pattern of high pressure off the Pacific Northwest and low pressure off the southern California coast. More sunshine and warmth is on tap tomorrow as well, with highs in the upper 80's.

Low pressure skirts over the state Thursday, dropping temps a few degrees and bringing gusty winds up to 25 MPH. 90 degree weather returns by the second half of the weekend.
