BREAKING: Woman missing after being sucked into a Nogales wash

NOGALES - Multiple agencies are on the scene of a wash rescue in Nogales after heavy rain in Mexico sent water rushing into the U.S.

According to reports by the Nogales International newspaper, a woman identified as 43-year-old Karla Salazar was traveling in an SUV with her husband and son in Nogales, Sonora, when their vehicle was overcome by floodwaters.

The husband and son were able to get out of the floodwaters and were not hurt. Salazar has not been found.

The search is taking place at the Nogales Wash.

NPD Lt. Carlos Jimenez told the Nogales International a body was spotted passing under the Doe Street bridge around 4:15 p.m.

Firefighters and rescue personnel are staged along the wash in hopes of finding Salazar.
