California cool-down coming soon

TUCSON - Temperatures take a tumble as a front fast approaches.

Today features mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 90's for Tucson, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. High pressure remains over the state tomorrow, keeping temps a few ticks above average with ample sunshine.

A cold front currently off the California coast swings toward the state late this week. Gusty winds develop ahead of the front Thursday under partly cloudy skies. Early Friday sees a slight chance of isolated showers and much cooler temperatures. Daytime highs Friday afternoon only peak in the upper 70's for Metro Tucson with gusty winds. Showers should taper off before Friday evening.

This weekend sees a rebound in the temperature department, with low to mid 80's and lots of sunshine.
