TUCSON - The lockdown at Carson Middle School has been lifted and the student who was spotted with a gun found, police said.
The school was put on a lockdown Friday morning when a driver saw a group of students passing around what appeared to be a gun, TUSD officials said.
Safety officers and Tucson Police officers swept the area to find the student and a pellet gun. A tip from a student led police to find the gun in an 8th grader's backpack, TUSD officials said.
TUSD is currently interviewing the student.
A boy who was spotted with a gun has prompted the lockdown of an eastside middle school.
Carson Middle School was placed on a lockdown when a driver in the area spotted a boy with a gun, Tucson Police spokeswoman Sgt. Maria Hawke said.
