TUCSON - A Tucson man trusted to care for children is behind bars, accused of voyeurism. 27 year old Mark Loebe an employee at Casa de los Niños, a child welfare agency, is accused of watching a 12 year old girl shower.
The girl was being cared for and staying at a Casa de los Niños facility. The Tucson non-profit serves abused and neglected kids and their families.
Loebe was immediately put on administrative leave.
He made his initial appearance before a judge Tuesday night.
Tucson Police say on Christmas Eve they got a report that Loebe was spying on a pre-teen girl while she was naked.
Sergeant Pete Dugan with the Tucson Police Department says, "Initial reports say the male staff member was watching this female while she was showing. This is a facility that the child is placed in to, to be cared for."
Dugan says sex crimes detectives were assigned to the case compiling evidence and interviews, eventually arresting Loebe Tuesday.
"Detectives were out there right away, as soon as we got the report. There were several interviews that needed to be conducted, so they investigated from the initial call until now when they made the arrest."
It's not known Loebe's position at Casa or how long he's worked there. In a statement to News 4 Tucson Susie Huhn, Casa's CEO says, "As soon as we were notified of the allegations, the employee was put on administrative leave and we have fully cooperated with the investigation. The safety and well-being of the children in our facility is our top priority as it has been since Casa de los Niños was founded in 1973."
Loebe was released to pre-trial services, without bond. His next court appearance is February 3rd.
