TUCSON - 9/11 is just a few weeks away and some local celebrities honored the fallen firefighters of the terrorist attacks by spending a few hours in their boots.
The Climb for the Fallen Celebrity Fundraiser is quite the challenge. Participants are required to climb 17 flights of stairs twice. As if that is not difficult enough, they wear full firefighter gear during the challenge.
"This is to represent what happened on 9/11 when we had first responders responding to the Twin Towers and there were 110 stories," said Tracy Koslowski with Drexel Heights Fire District.
News 4's Kristi Tedesco accepted this annual event's challenge. Climb for the Fallen is a group dedicated to local fire communities and their families in Arizona.
If you would like to see the next 9/11 memorial climb, local responders will be climbing the building seven times on September 14.
