"Cinderella's Closet" making teens' wishes come true one dress at a time

TUCSON-Cinderella's Closet has given away over 100 dresses so far to deserving young women so that they can go to prom.

Cinderella's Closet is literally a closet full of dresses where teens can come and pick the dress of their choice and shoes for free.

It's a dream come true for Meghan Sanders.

"I couldn't spend more than 20 dollars on a dress if I wanted to, and getting it for free along with shoes and a shawl, it means so much to me to be able to have that just for one night, and I really do feel like Cinderella," said Sanders.

Sanders found the perfect dress and shoes here to wear to prom, and as she looked in the mirrors, she said she saw herself transform.

"Kind of like a princess to tell you the truth," said Sanders.

It's exactly what cofounders Melissa Tureaud had in mind when she started this organization.

"We thought it would be neat to have something where girls could bring in their dresses when they're done with them and girls could come back in and take one when they need one," said Tureaud.

They're especially in need of plus size donations, so that everyone can feel as special as Sanders.

If you would like a dress and couldn't make it out Sunday, you can go to 7485 E. Broadway Blvd., April 13 from noon to 4 to pick up your dress.

If you can't make that day, you can contact cofounder Melissa Tureaud at Melissa@melissatureaud.com or call 520-270-7833.
