TUCSON - The "Climb 4 The Fallen" organized a celebrity stair climb Saturday morning, to prepare for their annual 9-11 event.
News reporters from local stations, including News Four Tucson, climbed the Bank of the West building at 5151 East Broadway in full firefighter gear. They completed the 17 stories twice.
Scott Lehman who owns Premier Auto Center also participated and provided financial support.
The group is trying to recruit more climbers for the main event on Sunday, September 15. Organizers are hoping to get at least 343 participants from police and fire departments to represent the New York firefighters killed at the World Trade Center. They will have to go to the top almost 7 times to complete 110 stories.
The money goes to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
Donations can be made on their website.
