TUCSON - Get ready for another traffic shift on Interstate 10.
Beginning Wednesday, February 26th through Sunday, March 2nd, there will be lane restrictions and ramp closures on the I-10 between Orange Grove and Miracle Mile so that crews can adjust temporary barriers and move traffic to the inside lanes.
It's all to prepare for the opening of the new Prince Road traffic interchange next month as a part of the $76.4 million project to widen the freeway between Ruthrauff and Prince Roads.
Closures to move the barriers will occur nightly from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM as follows:
On Saturday, March 1st, closures to shift traffic will occur overnight as follows:
Eastbound I-10 will be reduced to one lane between Orange Grove Road and Miracle Mile from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
The eastbound I-10 exit ramp at Prince Road will be closed from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
On Sunday, March 2nd at 6:00 a.m., traffic will be traveling on the three inside lanes of eastbound I-10.
It is important to know that the speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph during the project, so drivers should be ready to slow down and merge safely in the work zone.
