TUCSON- The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona's Santa Cruz River Farmers' Market will host "Shop Local for the Holidays," which will feature handmade crafts and food samples from a local refugee network.
This event will take place on Thursday December 13, 2012 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. The Market is located in the Mercado San Agustin at 100 S. Avenida del Convento (near the corner of Congress and Grande).
The "Shop Local" event will feature handmade crafts and food samples from Iskashitaa Refugee Network. Iskashitaa Refugee Network is a grass roots organization that helps rebuild refugee lives through partnerships with volunteers and local organizations, according to a news release form the Community Food Bank. Staff and volunteers unite refugees and the community through unique programs designed to empower the refugees.
Local honey, jams & jellies, mesquite flour, homemade pies, salsas and soups will also be on sale.
The Santa Cruz River Farmers' Market accepts SNAP (food stamps), WIC vouchers, Arizona Farmers Market Nutrition vouchers, cash, as well as credit and debit cards.
