TUCSON - Below average temperatures and showers are back in the forecast to end 2012.
Most of Southern Arizona woke up to freezing temperatures this morning with an official low of 32 at TIA, according to Meteorologist John Patrick. Daytime highs will remain cool this afternoon as Tucson struggles to reach the mid 50s.
Another widespread freeze is expected across Southern Arizona tonight. Pima County will dip into the upper 20s and low 30s while Cochise, Graham and Greenlee Counties could see lows under 25. Make sure to protect your pets, plants and pipes before going to bed tonight.
Our next wet weather system is scheduled to move through Southern Arizona late Sunday night into early Monday. Valley rain amounts look to stay between 0.10"-0.25" with elevations above 6000 feet picking up between 2"-5" of fresh snow.
Showers should taper off Monday afternoon just in time for your New Year's Eve celebration. Things look dry for the start of 2013 but we will remain cool with highs stuck in the 50s next week.
