TUCSON - Do you recognize the man picture here? His name is Ray Tyson - he's 21 years old, and Tucson Police need your help if you know him or his friends.

In April, Tyson was found brutally murdered in his apartment at 7700 East Speedway.

Investigators say his mother, who lives in California, hadn't heard from him so she called police. Neighbors told police there was a foul odor coming from the apartment. Officers found his decomposing body inside. They say there were obvious signs of trauma.

"We always try to bring closure to the case so that the family knows exactly what occurred, and in this case, Tyson had quite a few contacts in the community," said Sgt. Frank Hand with Tucson Police. "And what we're asking is for those people who knew him, that associated with him on a regular basis, to get a hold of us."

Investigators say they don't believe this is a gang-related murder. Tyson did have gang ties in another state, and detectives say there was no forced entry into the apartment.
