An investigation by Tucson Police and the D.E.A. is continuing, following shocking reports of cosmetic surgery being done at a business in an industrial area on Tucson's west side.
The News 4 Tucson Investigators uncovered details about what victims, and federal agents say was going on there.
This all follows reports that first came to light earlier this year, of a Tucson man performing procedures including liposuction and breast augmentation.
Two Tucson women ended up in the Emergency Room, after they started having severe complications from the procedures.
Agents say the surgeries were being performed at a building near Drachman and Oracle roads.
But, in court documents the News 4 Tucson Investigators uncovered, we learned that Gustavo Nunez told federal agents back in May that he only does the procedures under a doctor's supervision in Mexico.
He also admitted to agents that's he's not a doctor himself.
Agents told a judge, that they contacted the clinic in Mexico, and doctors there said that have never employed Nunez. They also said the procedures, like breast augmentation were, in fact, not performed in Mexico.
The News 4 Tucson Investigators went to the business, which is located in an industrial area.
As our cameras rolled, we heard them lock the door, preventing us from getting inside.
The court documents also show authorities are now investigating crimes including: practicing medicine without a license, unlawful transfer of a prescription-only drug, aggravated assault, and endangerment.
Agents executed a Search Warrant at the business last week. They seized files, paperwork, plus syringes and prescription drugs like Valium and Lidocaine. They even seized implants.
Tucson Police and the DEA say this is still an ongoing investigation. The News 4 Tucson Investigators expect additional details to be revealed in the days ahead. We'll continue to closely follow this investigation, and bring the latest as soon as we get it.
