Kingman, AZ - The Dean Peak Fire that began last Friday has burned more than 2,000 acres some 10 miles southeast of Kingman, Ariz.
As of Tuesday morning, it's zero percent contained.
According to Incident Commander Matt Reidy, "This fire is different from past fires, it is highly visible from the town of Kingman, this is not a typical desert fire and should be visible for some time."
The fire is burning in steep, rugged terrain with few natural barriers to stop fire spread. Additional resources have been ordered to assist with containment of the fire.
Residents of Pine Lake have been evacuated, and Old Highway 93 and Hualapai Mountain Road are closed to Pine Lake.
