(WESH) - A man suspected in a cold case double-murder in Marion County, Florida has told authorities he killed more than 30 people in his work as a debt collector for a Mexican drug cartel, deputies said Wednesday.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jose Manuel Martinez, 50, wanted for killing Gustavo Olivares-Rivas, 32, and Javier Huerta, 28, in Marion County in 2006. Martinez is currently being held in Alabama on another murder charge.
Deputies say he has confessed to 11 killings and claims to have killed 30 people. They said Manuel would collect drug debts and then kill the victims so there would be no witnesses.
