TUCSON - A few down days on tap for Monsoon 2013.
Dry air from the east scours out moisture over southern Arizona, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Expect mostly sunny skies the next few days as daytime highs run 5-7° above average for early September.
Tucson peaks in the 102-105° range today and tomorrow, which would make for the 67th and 68th 100° days of 2013.
Models are hinting at a tropical disturbance triggering a surge of moisture from the Gulf of California into Arizona by the weekend. There is a slight chance of a few storms Friday, with a better chance of isolated storms Saturday through Tuesday of next week.
