PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a woman who crashed her vehicle on a Phoenix interstate is dead after being hit multiple times.
Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves says the woman slammed her Toyota Corolla into a median wall while going northbound sometime before 5:20 a.m. Saturday on I-17 near Thunderbird Road.
Graves says it appears she was walking away when a Ford Mercury struck the vehicle, knocking her over the wall into southbound traffic.
DPS says the woman was struck by several cars.
Graves says another driver, who stopped to offer aid, was struck by an SUV.
Graves says the good Samaritan driver, a passenger in the Toyota and the Ford Mercury driver all have non-life-threatening injuries.
DPS expects investigators to keep I-17 closed for most of the day.
