TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Part of eastbound U.S. 60 is closed in Tempe Monday morning as authorities investigate the fatal shooting of a man sought by police.
The closure of eastbound U.S. 60 is between Interstate 10 and Mill Avenue.
Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves says the suspect began shooting from his stopped vehicle at officers who had used tire-puncturing spike strips to stop the vehicle.
Graves says a police dog pulled the man's dead body out of the vehicle after the shooting. He says an officer suffered a minor injury, possibly from broken glass.
According to Graves, the man was sought by Buckeye police. Further details aren't immediately available.
