TUCSON - Federal authorities say a German tourist arrested at the Tucson International Airport back in June was heading to Mexico to have sex with little girls. Court documents obtained by the News 4 Tucson Investigators show Karsten Puschmann was arrested June 26th after flying into TIA from Texas.
The documents also outline email exchanges Puschmann is accused of having with someone he thought could arrange sex with girls ages 5 to 11-years-old in Mexico.
When Puschmann arrived in Tucson on June 26th, Federal authorities were waiting and questioned him. Court documents show Puschmann answered investigators questions, but told them he was traveling to Mexico for sexual encounters with women over aged 25.
According to the court documents, Puschmann's passport indicates he had travelled to Chile, Ecuador, Brazil and Venezuela in the four months prior and stayed in each country two to four days. Brazil and Central America are known child sex tourism destinations.
Puschmann has been indicted on one count of Aggravated Sexual Abuse and one count of Travel with Intent to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct.
Puschmann has entered a not guilty plea.
