Fire displaces 18 residents from fourplex

TUCSON- An electrical fire at a midtown fourplex, displaced 18 residents early Sunday morning.

Tucson Fire Captain Pat Quinn says firefighters were dispatched to the complex at 2511 N. Fontana around 3 a.m., after residents reported seeing flames outside a window.

Fire crews found an outside electrical panel on fire.

Firefighters brought the fire under control in six minutes, but two of the units suffered smoke damage and broken windows.

Quinn says the residents displaced range from 65 years old to 3 years old.

The Red Cross is assisting the residents with lodging.

Damage is estimated at $10,000.
