TUCSON - A family is out of their home today after fire heavily damages a mobile home on the city's southside.
Crews from Rural/Metro Fire Department got a 911 call reporting a fire with flames coming from the roof of the home in the 3200 block of East Milton Road. On arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the back bedroom.
Taking about 25 minutes to extinguish the flames, firefighters protected nearby structures from any fire spread. Investigators are still reviewing the case at this time to accurately pinpoint a cause of the fire. Damage estimates are approximately $30,000.
No one was injured in the fire, but the family did lose their pets. The family is being cared for by the Red Cross.
