Flash Flood Watch for southern Arizona today

TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for southern Arizona until 11 PM today. This includes Metro Tucson, Nogales, Sierra Vista, Douglas, Safford & surrounding communities.

Scattered storms are expected this afternoon through the evening hours, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Activity will be slow-moving today, which may lead to heavy rainfall. Some towns may see as much as 2" rain over the next 24 hours.

A Flash Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding to occur. If flash flooding is observed, act quickly and head to higher ground.
