Flash Flood Watch issued today for Metro Tucson, southeastern Arizona

TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch today from 11 AM until 11 PM. This includes Metro Tucson, the Tohono O'odham Nation, southern Pinal, Santa Cruz, Cochise, southern Graham & southern Greenlee Counties.

A low pressure trough over the California coast triggers scattered storms today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. The best bet for storms will be along and east of a Casa Grande-Sells line. Any storm that develops could produce 1-2" rainfall.

Scattered storms will taper off after midnight, with isolated storms possible the remainder of the week.

If you are out driving today, remember to avoid flooded roadways. 6" of running water can knock a person off their feet, while 1-2 feet of water can float your vehicle. Turn around, don't drown!
