Flood Advisory for Green Valley, Sahuarita

TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for central Pima County until 11 AM. This includes the cities of Green Valley, Sahuarita, Three Points and Sells.

According to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, a cluster of slow-moving thunderstorms is capable of at least an inch of rain from Green Valley to Sells. This will create running streams and washes along highways 86 and 286, with some ponding of water on local streets. These storms are moving west at 5 MPH.

A rain gauge located at Mission & Continental Roads in Green Valley recorded 1.30" rain since 4 AM.

Expect elevated flows in the Brawley, Altar, Banner and Fresnal Washes the next few hours.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible through tonight for most of southern Arizona, with some severe weather possible. Today's Monsoon Prediction Index is at 6 out of 10 for the moderate risk of gusty winds and flooding.
