Flood Advisory for southwest Tucson metro

TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for east central Pima County until 3 PM. This includes the southwest side of the Tucson metro, Drexel Heights and Midvale Park.

According to Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, a cluster of thunderstorms has dumped roughly a half-inch of rain at Wade & Los Reales Roads and the Sierrita Mountains. This will create flowing washes and streams along Ajo Highway and Valencia Road along with other area roadways.

Other storms across the Tucson metro are capable of a half-inch of rain, as the push north-northeast at 15 MPH.

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for all of southern Arizona until 9 PM this evening.
