TUCSON- Monsoon rains hit Tucson's south side hard Friday afternoon, creating a scary experience for one driver and her elderly aunt.
Maria Villa and 81-year-old Dolores Villa were making their way home, when flood waters trapped their car at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Silverlake Road.
The water started rising to the top of the tires, but luckily a driver passing by stopped to help.
The man carried Dolores to safety, while Maria walked through the water to get out. "He was an angel," Maria says. "I don't even remember his face, but I'm really glad he came over because there were other cars that went by and nobody came to help."
Maria says the experience taught her a lesson about driving through high waters at dipped roads.
