TUCSON - A former counselor in the Amphitheather School District has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against her former employer.
Katia Garcia-Huerta is asking for $6M in damage, plus legal fees.
She claims she was forced to resign, after being accused of not reporting a student's allegation of inappropriate sexual conduct by a teacher.
Garcia says she told the school principal about the allegation, and he then notified Tucson police.
Ultimately, Garcia was acquitted of all charges against her. She is also suing the principal.
As well as an insurance company who carries a a policy with the district to defend employees from accusations of wrongdoing.
Right now, Amphi is not commenting - other than to say they are confident the case will be resolved quote entirely in favor of the district.
