TUCSON- A former contract employee of Direct T-V arrested, and charged with theft. Investigators say, Christopher Robles was preying on the most vulnerable population, the elderly.
Pima County Sheriff's detectives say while he was working for Direct T-V he would show up unannounced saying he was fixing their equipment. Fernando Fimbres says, "This person would gain access to the house and gain access to the bedrooms and when he was alone they believe he was taking jewelry."
Robles lives in Rio Rico. Investigators searched his house and vehicle. Detective Fimbres helped serve a search warrant. "We found women's jewelry and commercial tools and equipment inside of the house."
Inside his vehicle detectives also found possible evidence that could link Robles to the thefts. Detectives say he was stealing on his days off. "Direct TV was very cooperative they provided us with a schedule that was Christopher Robles was working."
Detectives say they also found stolen items that may have been taken from Robles' previous employers from where he had also been fired.
Detectives say there is a lesson here, if you haven't requested service and someone shows up at your front door, "Verify credentials with them and also find a telephone number for that specific company and call them and verify that someone is scheduled to go to your house."
So far, Pima County has at least five cases against Christopher Robles, there's a strong possibility he may have been doing the same in other areas. If you have information contact 88-crime, or 911.
