TUCSON - The experts say the best way to protect yourself from identity theft is to shred any documents with personal information, but it can get overwhelming when you have a large amount of papers to get through.
Good news: there's a free shredding event coming up this weekend in Tucson.
Ward 3 Council Member Karin Uhlich and Pima County Constable Bennett Bernal are hosting the Shred-it Tucson event on Saturday, April 26.
The event will take place at Mansfield Park, 2000 N. 4th Avenue, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The shredding service is free for the first box. A second box may be shredded for a $5 donation to Emerge! Center Against Domestic Violence or Lend A Hand Volunteer Services.
For more information, contact the Ward 3 Office at 791-4711.
