TUCSON - Consider the rest of the work week the calm before the storm.
Dry air moving in from the east limits the thunder threat today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Expect isolated storms, especially along & west of an Oracle-Sierra Vista line. Highs return to the 100's this afternoon in Tucson.
Newly minted Tropical Depression Nine-E in the eastern Pacific ramps up storm chances this weekend. A Gulf surge of moisture helps trigger scattered storms, with Sunday likely the stormiest day. Many southern Arizona locations could see 0.50-1.00" rain, especially west of Tucson. Isolated 2" rainfall amounts can't be ruled out.
With scattered storms possible, highs this weekend struggle to reach the low to mid 90's.
